CSS News - July 4, 2025
Good Morning, Captains! Dim here. Hope you're doing well.
We're launching a Weekly Blog to keep you up to date with the latest news and updates on CSS products. We have some exciting things to share this week!, including long-awaited PayPal support! More on that below.
Modelling & Texturing
Quite possibly the biggest achievement in the coming update:
We have managed to fix the most famous visual bug - the EIS gauges no longer jitter, even with TAA!
The same discoveries that led us to this fix have also allowed us to rework the glass textures on cockpit screens and improve the cockpit window decals.
Other changes include an added Rudder Trim Index and a fix for the F/O's Oxygen Mask.
We are also working on improving the Panel Lighting, adding colder lights on the MIP to better reflect most airframes flying today.
Work is also continuing on the external model of the 737-400 passenger variant.
Systems
After the latest update, we had been made aware that waypoints were not being drawn correctly for many users. After investigating it, we discovered that the latest Navigraph AIRAC cycle, 2506, did not contain any coordinates for SID or STAR waypoints. They defaulted to 0, which meant that the FMC would direct our pilots to Null Island. This error was resolved within a couple of hours of us contacting Navigraph about it. If you encounter this problem, delete the AIRAC using the Navigraph Hub, reinstall it and check that the filesize of the AIRAC cycle in Community/css-core/data/NavData/Active is 150mb or similar. The broken AIRAC may still be in your Active folder, its filesize is 130mb. If so, delete this file and copy over the correct file from the Inactive folder. This is only necessary if you had previously installed the 2506 cycle from Navigraph.
We are constantly collecting feedback and bug reports via the CSS Launcher and other platforms.
We're currently tasked with improving the FCC and fixing LNAV exceeding Bank Angle limits. This only occurs under very specific circumstances - if the pilot engages LNAV after passing the first waypoint, or if a DIR TO requires a sharp turn. While we're working on ironing this out, if you encounter it during your flight, revert to HDG SEL, align the aircraft with the desired track, make a DIR TO to the next waypoint and engage LNAV again.
While work on the LNAV problem continues, we have successfully fixed a bug where adding or changing the STAR in flight erases the rest of the route. We have also added a NAV DATA OUT OF DATE message to the FMC, its necessity clearly being warranted given the latest AIRAC conundrum.
We are continuing to gather information on SIDs/STARS that are not being drawn properly, and will be continuously fixing them as we move forward.
Exciting News!
Many of the features mentioned above will be introduced in the 1.2 update which is being prepared to be sent out to our testing team as I type this post.
Along with this update, we will officially introduce PayPal as a payment option within the CSS Launcher!
Thank you, and Happy Flighting!
