CSS News - August 1, 2025
Welcome to another edition of the CSS Weekly Blog where we keep you up to date with our latest developments.
We'll keep this one brief as we focus on releasing today's update.
Yes, you heard it right - CSS 737-500 Version 1.4.6 is now available for download in your CSS Launchers!
Besides the previously mentioned features such as Eyebrow windows and Winglets, we've made the decision to publically release the MSFS 2024 version of the CSS 737-500 as an Experimental release with known issues, more on that below. Also, be sure to check out the full changelog to see what has been added and improved!
As promised, the Experimental MSFS 2024 version is available to all MSFS 2020 users at no additional cost, as will be the case with the full release.
Coinciding with this update, The CSS 737-500 is now available for purchase on simMarket - with all 3 license tiers present. simMarket customers will recieve a license key with their order that can be activated in the CSS Launcher by selecting "simMarket code" in the Product selection drop-down menu, which will grant them access to the CSS 737 just like CSS customers.
We hope this option makes our product more accessible and convenient to more simmers.
Experimental MSFS 2024 Support
We've decided to let all of our users experience the CSS 737-500 in MSFS 2024, despite the current build's flaws. The 2024 version, system-wise, is exactly the same as 2020, but boasts a better performance due to 2024's better multithreading capabilities. While we have fixed some 2024-specific bugs, other minor issues still remain, including low sound volume and incompatibility with Walkaround Mode. We will continue work on fixing these problems and improving the plane as time goes on, but we wanted to give 2024 simmers the opportunity to try it out without having to wait any more time. If you are not prepared to encounter bugs and issues, we suggest you continue using the 2020 version until the full release of the 2024 version.
System improvements
In addition to changes discussed in the previous news posts, we have successfully fixed a bug where entering the gross weight on the PERF APPR page breaks the CDU's scratchpad. We have also tuned the engine parameters quite a bit and improved low-speed behavior, so now a stall won't occur without the stick shaker already blaring. Another note to make here is that for the time being, the Winglets are purely cosmetic, however a proper Winglet flight model is in the works and will be added later on. There are a ton of changes in this update, so without further ado, I will present you with the entire changelog and be on my merry way.
P.S.: We are continuing to work on the sounds in collaboration with a well-known professional in the sim sound industry, and hopefully we'll have something to share with you very soon!
P.P.S: We will also show some progress on other 737 variants in the near future!
